His parents have a bedroom and bathroom on one floor, which is the top floor where Bruno and his sister Gretel sleep. For the mother, this affair could be an act of rebellion against her father and the Auschwitz life he forced her to live, or simply a boring play in his deserted place - or she and Kotler could have genuine love for each other. Bruno's willingness to sacrifice his own well-being and enter an enemy concentration camp to help a friend reflects his selfless personality and courage. I don't see why I have to be stuck here on this side of the fence with no one to talk and play with and you have dozens of friends and you probably play for hours every day.
